Brown Brothers/Kelair Pumps makes Australian acquisition

AxFlow Group’s Brown Brothers Engineers/Kelair Pumps has strengthened its service offering with the acquisition of GT Water Technologies, a family-owned company specialising in fire water tanks for the building and fire safety markets in the Melbourne area of Australia.

Established in 2012 and now with 11 employees, Melbourne-based GT Water is particularly strong in pump systems and assemblies. The company’s main products are storage tanks and systems for fire suppression, hydraulic systems for stormwater, sewage and domestic hot water, as well as pump service and installation for the industry.

“Although a young company, GT Water has quickly established its service business, demonstrated strong, profitable growth and has a proven record of taking market share,” said Ole Weiner, CEO of AxFlow Holding. “This is in line with AxFlow’s strategy of adding value through product selection, system design, and construction, as well as local service.”

John Inkster, managing director of Brown Brothers Engineers /Kelair Pumps, sees considerable potential in the acquisition. “This is an opportunity for Kelair to expand its footprint in the building and fire markets,” he said. “It also presents an opportunity for Kelair to bring fire water storage tanks into other regions.”

AxFlow bought Brown Brothers/Kelair, a distributor of positive displacement and centrifugal pumps in Australia and New Zealand last year.
