EKKI invests in new hyper factory in India

Indian pump manufacturer EKKI is building a state-of-the-art hyper factory in Coimbatore.

The column-free, single-span facility will integrate the KOOT Advanced Components Unit, KKV Labs for cutting-edge design and engineering, quantum testing and quality facilities, and the EKKI Academy. It will enable EKKI to produce high-precision pumps, systems, and components for global markets, reinforcing its commitment to the “Make in India, For the World” vision.

Arumugam P, chief executive of EKKI, said: “To build world-class products, one needs world-class factories and people.”

Kanishka Arumugam, Co-CEO of EKKI, described the project as “more than just a manufacturing unit – it is a machine that builds machines.”

EKKI’s Smart Production System will integrate machines and workstations while fostering creativity and future-focused work. The EKKI Academy will train and re-skill the workforce for this next-gen environment. Arumugam also emphasized EKKI’s commitment to gender diversity and increasing women’s representation at all levels. The EKKI hyper factory will incorporate solar energy, water conservation, and circular economy principles, underscoring EKKI’s dedication to environmental stewardship and quality.

EKKI says it is deeply committed to the state of Tamil Nadu and Coimbatore, leveraging the region’s skilled workforce, engineering expertise, top research labs, and strong supply chain for advanced pump manufacturing.

With four state-of-the-art production facilities and an international joint venture alliance with global leader Germany’s HOMA, EKKI exports to over 25 countries. The Arumugam family, which also owns Deccan Pumps Pvt Ltd, acquired Deccan Industries' assets and facilities in 2013. Since then, the group has significantly enhanced the manufacturing systems and capabilities of both the EKKI and D+Deccan brands.
