The Flowserve ISO 13709/API 610 process pumps will be used in the facility’s CO2 capture unit.
“The Kemper County IGCC project is an important step in the development of clean coal technology,” said Tom Ferguson, president of the Flowserve Flow Solutions Group.
The Kemper County IGCC power plant is designed to capture approximately 65% of the CO2 emissions. The CO2 will then be sold for use in enhanced oil recovery operations. This is one of the first commercial projects in the United States to employ carbon capture at a power plant.
