“Flowserve is proud to have been chosen as a partner by the German government to create this innovative, deep-well submersible pump,” said Tom Ferguson, president, Flow Solutions Group.
Developed in conjunction with the German government, the high-energy submersible motor took approximately four years to commercialise and is designed to help Germany meet its renewable energy goals.
With a motor size of 850 kW and a flow rate of 130 l/s, this highly-engineered, vertical pump and oil-filled motor is designed to be installed at a depth of 600 m and used to pump water with temperatures up to 140°C.
The Geothermische Kraftwerksgesellschaft Traunreut binary cycle geothermal plant is expected to come online and deliver heat during the fourth quarter of 2013 and electricity by the end of 2013.
