The UK pump manufacturer has been part of the Hidrostal group of companies since 2002.
Bedford Pumps Ltd will report into the UK holding company Hidrostal (GB) Ltd, along with their sister UK company Hidrostal Ltd, which is based in Newbury and Castleford. Managing director Eddie McClagish and sales director Frank Cooper will continue as directors of Bedford Pumps with responsibilty for the day to day running of the business.
“This marks a significant development in the long term future of the 25 year old company and takes us closer to the integration aims of the Hidrostal Group. Being a wholly owned subsidiary within the stronger group and having access to their sales network can only improve our exposure to the wider world and promote our own growth. The complementary ranges of products from both organisations will significantly increase our markets both in the UK and abroad,” said McClagish.
Neil Langdown, managing director for Hidrostal (GB) Ltd, said: “Bedford Pumps Ltd and Hidrostal Ltd will continue to exist as separate operating companies, whilst at the same time we will work closer together to offer our customers the benefits of the extended product range.”
