Building on extensive customer feedback, this latest innovation offers higher efficiencies and competitive Net Positive Suction Head (NPSH) in a faster, more compact design.

The streamlined and unified design replaces three Goulds Pumps legacy products, standardizing maintenance activities while maximizing interchangeability and reducing spare parts inventory. The design assures axial and radial balance for long life and low maintenance, incorporates suction and discharge nozzles in lower half casing for ease of inspection, and features easily replaceable wear rings that protect against impeller and casing wear.

The 3430 line’s new i-Frame 360° bearing housing provides easy alignment and maximum strength, features generous seal area access openings for simple replacement of modern split cartridge seals without removal of the bearing housings, and includes integrally casted cooling fins for better heat dissipation. In addition, the versatile casing and shaft design accommodates mechanical seals or packing with just a shaft sleeve change, meaning no machining is required.

“The launch of this first phase of the 3430 line represents a significant milestone for Goulds Pumps and the industry,” said Chris Preston, Senior Global Product Manager at ITT. “The 3430 line offers improved, dynamic design features for a wide range of industrial, municipal, marine, and power generation services. These new enhancements ensure improved serviceability, accessibility, and installation versatility, and a longer life span with less maintenance required.”

The 3430 pump line incorporates ductile iron casing, 316SS impellers, 316SS shaft sleeves, Nitronic 60 casing wear rings, and extensive investment in tooling to ensure a competitive and cost-effective design. It is also available in imperial and metric designs to serve both 50Hz and 60Hz markets worldwide.

The new line is ideal for applications including industrial process, pulp and paper, primary metals, municipal, utilities, and marine. The double suction pump is designed for capacities to 65,000 GPM (14,763 m3/hr), heads to 745 ft (227 m), temperatures to 350° F (177° C), and working pressures to 520 psi (3585 kPa).
