MDS conference focuses on drive efficiency

In the conference, the individual elements of a system, such as pumps, fans, motors, drives and compressors, will be addressed to highlight best practices, new technology and innovative ideas, the organisers say.

With regards to drives and compressors, the conference will look at the use of variable speed drives (VSDs) to achieve the best possible energy savings/efficiency from a fan or pump infrastructure and how best to optimize their use.

At the conference, there will also be discussion of the use of “drive train management” as a systematic approach to energy management.

There will also be an examination of sliding vane rotary compressors (SVRC), looking at their potential in terms of energy saving due to some intrinsic features specifically related to the principles of the working conditions of the machine, which do not strictly apply to other types of rotary compressor.
