Hillevag, a sales, rental and repair company, has its main office and workshops in Stavanger, with other bases in Kristiansand, Skien and Karmoy.
The 12 000 m2 Stavanger site employs 40 people, and is a centre of excellence for compressors, diesel generators and accessories for purchase and hire. Hillevag also has a background in pumps and offers a test rig operating at up to 500kW. Its test facility has a dedicated area for lineshaft and submersible pumps, as well as a test loop for the API process pumps and a crane capacity of 10 tonnes.
Ian Burrows, head of major projects at SPP Pumps, said: “In the past 12 months SPP has been in discussions with many potential customers in Norway - Statoil, Teekay, Aker Solutions and Aibel - to name but a few. Future business opportunities are encouraging and our activities are attracting a high level of interest. In order to increase our efforts and ensure we meet customer demand in this region, we have set up a co-operation agreement with Hillevag Elektro-Diesel AS - who will support new sales, local packaging, testing and engineering services in Norway. We are excited about this partnership.”
