The Sulzer Academy for pumps and systems is holding a four-day seminar entitled Pump Maintenance and Operation, from 17–20 November in Bruchsal and Mannheim in Germany.
The training programme has been created to provide in-depth knowledge of centrifugal pumps including design characteristics and fault diagnosis.
Aimed at specialists with experience of operating and repairing centrifugal pumps, it takes the form of theoretical and practical sessions, offering an improved understanding of the principles and the functioning of centrifugal pumps, mechanical seals and other components.
The theoretical sessions provide knowledge of centrifugal pumps, their operation and maintenance, typical causes of faults and how to avoid them, as well as specialist knowledge on selection and installation of mechanical seals and how to modify an existing pumps design. During a plant visit, participants will also be given an in-depth insight into the modern production of a pump package and how a centrifugal pump is tested prior to delivery.
The practical exercises with pumps and mechanical seals give attendees the opportunity to supplement their theoretical knowledge with hands-on experience of pump strip-down and assembly.
