German software developer VSX - Vogel Software has made a donation to the humanitarian organisation arche noVa which is providing direct aid on site to those affected by the recent floods which caused severe devastation following heavy rainfall in parts of Germany.

Dresden-based arche noVa is working with Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund (ASB)to provide effective help, and has already released €50,000 from its reserves for flood relief. Donations will be used for immediate emergency aid and longer-term reconstruction.

VSX – Vogel Software is a provider of software solutions for pump selection and is also based in Dresden. arche noVa specialises in the provision and restoration of drinking water supplies in crisis-ridden regions and regularly receives donations from VSX to finance emergency relief operations.

Jens Uwe-Vogel, managing director of VSX - Vogel Software, said: "Supporting people who are facing the ruins of their existence due to the flood is a special concern for us. We still remember the damage caused by the 2002 floods in Dresden and the surrounding area, and we know what such masses of water can do.”
