Wilo has opened a new high-tech production facility in Changzhou, China that will manufacture around 3 million high-efficiency pumps and 3.5 million electric motors per year.

Wilo Changzhou Park includes a factory and office building as well as research and development facilities on an 84 hectare site.

“With this investment in a new high-tech factory, we want to write another chapter of our success story in China,” says Oliver Hermes, president & CEO of the Wilo Group. “The new production site allows us to offer products, systems and solutions that are even more tailored to regional market requirements. This will make the entire Wilo Group more resilient.”

The expansion of production as well as research and development capacity in China is consistent with Wilo’s global region-for-region strategy. The German pump company wants to meet regional customer needs with products manufactured locally.

“In Changzhou, we have built one of the most modern factories. Industry 4.0 and consistent digitalisation form the bedrock of our production facilities and enable us to achieve our ambitious sustainability goals,” says Georg Weber, executive board member and CTO of the Wilo Group.

TÜV Rheinland has already awarded the Wilo Changzhou Park site a Carbon Neutral Company certificate.

“Wilo is a climate-protection company,” says Weber. “We want to be a pioneer in the industry and achieve carbon neutrality at all production sites worldwide by 2025.”
