Greene Tweed’s WR650 is a dry run resistant, chemically compatible composite which replaces metallic wear parts for centrifugal pumps in refineries.
Reinforced with a 3D carbon-fiber architecture, the company says the WR650 can sustain 2.5-times higher dry wear conditions before showing signs of degradation when compared to other PFA-based material.
WR650 offers high levels of chemical compatibility and wear and operates from sub-zero to 500°F (260°C). The material also has a coefficient of thermal expansion comparable to steel over a wide range of temperatures, ensuring a constant running clearance, no interference, and no efficiency drop.
The malleable nature of PFA ensures metallic counter parts are preserved, even those that are relatively soft. WR650’s non-galling/non-seizing characteristics and ability to dampen vibrations also allow for tighter clearances and greater efficiency.
Designed for stationary wear parts in vertical, horizontal, single, and multistage centrifugal pumps, WR650 is intended for pumps in refineries, chemical plants, power plants, pipelines, and water treatment plants. It is available in stock shapes from ID1 in to OD12 in.
