Derek Jackson of Hidrostal Pumps won the Lifetime Achievement Award, sponsored by SPP Pumps.

"A wonderful evening which was topped off by a totally unexpected award," said Jackson. "I have been overwhelmed by the congratulations received from people at all levels of the industry – a truly humbling experience. I feel this award is also a reflection on the fantastic people I have been privileged to work with over the years and should be a reminder to all of the obligation we have to pass on our knowledge to the next generation of engineers."

Joseph Clark, SPP Pumps was the winner of Engineer of the Year, sponsored by SPX Clydeunion Pumps.

"I am pleased to have had the opportunity to attend the PIA with fellow engineers working in the pump industry and I am very proud to have been awarded ‘Engineer of the Year’; It is an amazing feeling to receive recognition for the projects and personal development I have completed so far in my career," said Clark. "I would like to thank all of my colleagues that have provided support and an excellent level of training throughout. I hope to pass on what I have learnt to the new graduates and apprentices employed by SPP Pumps through my role as engineering team leader. Being part of the Pump Industry Awards is very important to SPP Pumps. It is a brilliant forum to recognise the good work that is going on throughout the industry and the event provides a great networking opportunity for all involved. It is through recognising advancements in technology that we will be prepared to meet the needs of the future; by providing suitable product solutions that are sustainable and have a positive impact within the industry."

Tomlinson Hall & Co won Distributor of the Year, sponsored by the BPMA. Colin Simpson, sales director of Tomlinson Hall commented on the award: "To win the Distributor of the Year award once is a great honour, to win it twice is just fantastic, but to win it for the third consecutive year is truly spectacular and a boost to us all," he said. "To have been judged by our peers in the industry is humbling to say the least. It was a terrific evening which we would have enjoyed with our guests whether we’d won anything or not, but the award obviously made it even more enjoyable, not only for ourselves and all our staff, but also for our clients and customers who naturally enjoy the success. The BPMA, combined with the professional team from Touchwave media, create a perfect evening and environment to celebrate our industry. We’ve come a long way since our formation in 1919 and are now representing many international manufacturers and distributing pumps on a truly global scale to customers from South America to Russia. We’ve grown and expanded in a harsh economic climate and this award has given a tremendous boost to everyone connected with the company. It’s is a tremendous accolade and acknowledgement to the levels of service we deliver and we are extremely grateful to everyone connected with the decision."
