SEEPEX has added the new BCF model to its line of sanitary progressive cavity pumps, designed for the food, beverage, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and personal care industries.
The BCF is 3-A Sanitary Standards certified, with a flexible rod drive train design, based on a flexible titanium shaft, the Flexrod, instead of a coupling rod with universal joints. This ensures residue-free cleaning by Clean in Place (CIP) and Clean on Place (COP) processes. CIP cycles are shorter, and COP involves simple disassembly of the rotating parts without needing to disassemble the Flexrod connecting rods or joints. The Flexrod is held in place with food grade fasteners that only require standard hand tools for disassembly. Benefits of the BCF range include increased safety as it eliminates the possibility of metal contaminating food products. It’s also more corrosion resistant than 300 series stainless steel, it has fewer parts than other designs and there is less wear as there are no rubbing components, eliminating the need to replace coupling rods. Existing BCS pumps can be upgraded to the BCF by changing the wetted rotating parts.
