Ebara Corp has established two new departments and appointed a new executive officer to promote business innovation and digital transformation.
The Japanese company has set up a Business Innovation Department and a Global Procurement and SCM Strategy Department under its Operations Innovation Division effective 1 April 2020. Working towards the goals of Ebara’s E-Plan 2022, the move is designed to develop strategies and systems to strengthen the company’s global business operations, optimize the procurement system and reduce costs.
The Operations Innovation Division was established in 2019 to introduce business processes using IT and digital technology, while promoting diversity and workstyle reform to create a working environment that encourages out-of-the-box ideas and launch new businesses.
Hiroyuki Kowase, general manager of the Information and Communication System Division, has been appointed as an executive officer of the company. Kowase has extensive experience in digital transformation including ERP, which will be introduced company-wide. Kowase is the first Ebara officer recruited externally. He joined the Japanese pump manufacturer in 2018 after serving as Senior Corporate Executive and Information System Department Chief Information Officer & General Manager at Lixil Corp.
Michael Lordi, who is responsible for Ebara’s Compressors and Turbines Business, has also been appointed as an executive officer. Lordi is Ebara’s first-ever non-Japanese officer.
