First Quarter 2022

Industrial Flow Solutions to acquire Italy’s Dreno Pompe

Industrial Flow Solutions bought Dreno Pompe, a designer and manufacturer of electrical submersible pumps for wastewater applications, based in Monselice in northeastern Italy.

 

Management buyout for Grundfos’s Enaqua

The Enaqua management team acquired the UV water treatment company from Grundfos.

Enaqua is a Vista (San Diego), California-based Grundfos company that provides UV water treatment solutions for municipal wastewater disinfection and process water treatment, including food and aquaculture as well as re-use applications.

 

Holland Pump expands in rental market

Holland Pump Co, the US specialty pump rental and dewatering solutions provider, acquired Pump Service & Supply of Troy (PSS), based in Troy, New York.

 

Franklin Electric adds to Headwater portfolio

Franklin Electric Co Inc’s Headwater Companies LLC acquired Blake Group Holdings Inc, a Connecticut, USA-based groundwater distribution company, in a US$27.1 million cash deal.

 

Unibloc acquires Standard Pump

Unibloc Pump purchased Standard Pump, a US manufacturer of hygienic process pumps based in Duluth, Georgia.

 

Belgium’s WILG Group acquires Italian pump distributor

WILG (Water Is Life Group) Group bought the Italian pump specialist Orlando Water Technology.

 

AxFlow makes Danish acquisition

AxFlow acquired Pumpegruppen A/S, a Danish pump supplier to the chemical, food and pharmaceutical industries and for water treatment and general industrial applications.

Trillium finalises acquisition of Termomeccanica Pompe

Trillium Flow Technologies completed its acquisition of Italy’s Termomeccanica Pompe.

 

Johnson Controls acquires Powertec Pumps

Johnson Controls strengthened its fire suppression and wider pumps operations with the acquisition of Powertec Pumps Ltd, a UK provider of pump-related services.

 

ITT acquires Israeli valve manufacturer Habonim

ITT Inc bought the Habonim valve company in a US$140 million all-cash deal.

Kfar HaNassi, Israel-based Habonim designs and manufactures valves, valve automation and actuation for the gas distribution (including LNG), biotech and harsh application service sectors.

 

Atlas Copco completes Wangen acquisition

Atlas Copco finalised its acquisition of the German industrial pump manufacturer Pumpenfabrik Wangen GmbH from private equity firm Silverfleet Capital.

 

Lone Star acquires SPX Flow

US private equity firm Lone Star Funds closed its acquisition of SPX Flow Inc.

 

Acquisition will add to Dover's single-use component offering

Dover entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Malema Engineering Corp, a US designer and manufacturer of high-precision, mission-critical flow-measurement and control instruments for the biopharmaceutical, semiconductor and industrial sectors.

 

OTC Industrial Technologies acquires ePumps

US industrial distributor and service provider OTC Industrial Technologies acquired ePumps, a Tulsa, Oklahoma-headquartered provider of pumps, mechanical seals, vacuum systems and compressors.

 

AxFlow expands in Northern Ireland

AxFlow Ireland bought Fin Maintenance Ltd and Flow Technology Services Ltd, two Belfast-based industrial maintenance, engineering services and flow control companies serving customers in the water, wastewater, energy, and manufacturing industries.

 

FloWorks expands distribution platform with netMercury acquisition

FloWorks International LLC, the specialty flow control distribution platform, acquired parts and services distributor netMercury.

Founded in 2000, netMercury distributes critical parts and services to the global integrated circuit fabrication and technology industries with three locations in Dallas, Austin and Phoenix. The company’s products include system controls, temperature controls, high purity valves and fittings, fluid pumps, liquid flow controls, cleanroom equipment, consumables, vacuum pumps, and wafer process equipment, among others. netMercury also provides project management, including repair programs for equipment and components, custom kitting services for maintenance, and automated supply chain management replenishment services.

 

Atlas Copco to acquire Chinese industrial vacuum pump producer

Atlas Copco is acquiring the assets of Shandong Jinggong Pump Co Ltd, a Chinese developer and manufacturer of liquid ring vacuum pumps and systems mainly used in the chemical and other general industries.

 

DESMI agrees to sell majority stake to private equity firm

The Danish pump manufacturer DESMI signed a definitive agreement to sell a majority share to middle market private equity firm One Equity Partners (OEP).

 

Evoqua expands in North America with Smith Engineering acquisition

Evoqua Water Technologies entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Smith Engineering Inc, a US designer, manufacturer and servicer of custom high purity water treatment equipment.

 

Alfa Laval to acquire Swedish tank cleaning equipment specialist Scanjet

Alfa Laval signed an agreement to acquire Scanjet, a global supplier of tank cleaning equipment and solutions for marine, offshore and industrial applications.

 

Roper Technologies to sell majority stake in its industrial businesses to Clayton, Dubilier & Rice

Roper Technologies Inc agreed to sell a majority stake in its industrial businesses, including its entire Process Technologies segment and the industrial businesses within its Measurement & Analytical Solutions segment, to affiliates of private investment firm Clayton, Dubilier & Rice LLC (CD&R).

 

Gorman-Rupp acquires pump and meter manufacturer Fill-Rite

The Gorman-Rupp Co completed its acquisition of Tuthill Corp’s Fill-Rite and Sotera division, in a US$525 million deal.

Italy’s Calpeda joins Wateralia platform

Calpeda SpA, the Italian manufacturer of pumps, motors and systems for the integrated water cycle, is joining asset manager Ambienta SGR SpA’s Wateralia SpA platform company.

In 2021, Ambienta invested in Italian pump maker Caprari SpA and created Wateralia, a platform for M&A consolidation in the water pump industry. The founding Caprari family has a minority stake in Wateralia. Like Caprari, Calpeda’s families will retain a stake in Wateralia, with Renzo Lorenzi serving as chairman of Calpeda.

 

Atlas Copco buys Canadian vacuum distributor and service provider

Atlas Copco acquired Les pompes à vide TECHNI-V-AC inc, a distributor of Atlas Copco vacuum equipment and a service provider in Canada.

 

Gjerdrum family acquires PG Flow Solutions from Enflow

The Gjerdrum family acquired 100% of the shares of Norwegian pump and liquid handling specialist PG Flow Solutions AS (formerly Ing Per Gjerdrum AS), 40 years after Per Gjerdrum founded the company.

 

Tencarva Machinery acquires Fischer Process Industries

Tencarva Machinery Company acquired Fischer Process Industries, a US distributor of pumps, valves and process equipment servicing Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, West Virginia and Georgia.

 

Wilo expands in wastewater treatment

Wilo made two wastewater treatment acquisitions in Germany: FSM Frankenberger GmbH & Co KG in Pohlheim and WSM Walower Stahl- und Maschinenbau GmbH in Walow.

 

PumpMan expands in Southern California

PumpMan acquired Ransom Pump & Supply based in Ramona, California, a designer, servicer, repairer and installer of complete residential and commercial well based freshwater systems.

 

Ingersoll Rand to acquire Indian progressive cavity pump manufacturer Hydro Prokav

Ingersoll Rand Inc entered into an agreement to acquire Hydro Prokav Pumps (India) Private Ltd, a manufacturer and seller of progressive cavity pumps.

 

Acquisitions increase Holland Pump's footprint in the US rental market

Holland Pump Company, the US pump rental and dewatering solutions provider, acquired Sander Power Equipment based in Trevose, Pennsylvania and Pump & Power Equipment Corp of Jessup, Maryland.

 

Ahlsell to acquire Norwegian pump specialist Intec Pumper

Swedish distributor Ahlsell AB signed an agreement to acquire Norway’s Intec Pumper AS.

Intec Pumper, which has annual sales of NOK200 million, offers complete solutions for pumping water and wastewater, as well as customer-unique solutions for the prefabrication of pumping stations. The company serves contractors, road and tunnel builders, plumbers, fish farmers and offshore and marine customers in both the public and private sectors.

 

Selwood and Siltbuster owner sells majority stake to fund manager

Workdry International Ltd, the holding company for the UK’s Selwood Ltd, Siltbuster Ltd and Siltbuster Process Solutions Ltd, sold a majority stake to independent fund manager Arcus Infrastructure Partners.

 

Lee Company buys micropump maker TTP Ventus

The Lee Company, a specialist in miniature precision fluid control products, acquired micropump manufacturer TTP Ventus Limited from TTP Group.

 

Ingersoll Rand to acquire Spain’s Pedro Gil

Ingersoll Rand Inc entered into an agreement to acquire Pedro Gil Construcciones Mecánicas S, a Spanish manufacturer of positive displacement blowers, pumps and vacuum systems.

 

DXP Enterprises adds to water and wastewater portfolio

DXP Enterprises Inc completed the acquisition of Sullivan Environmental Technologies Inc, a US distributor and manufacturers’ representative of pumps, valves, controls, and process equipment serving the municipal and industrial water and wastewater industry in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana.

 

Atlas Copco completes acquisition of Lewa and Geveke

Atlas Copco acquired Lewa GmbH and Geveke BV and their subsidiaries from Japan’s Nikkiso Co Ltd for a combined enterprise value of €670 million.

Founded in 1952 and based in Germany, Lewa manufactures diaphragm metering pumps, process pumps and complete metering systems for a wide range of industries. The company has around 1200 employees and had 2021 revenues of €233 million.

Geveke, meanwhile, distributes compressors and engineers advanced and complex process pump installations. Founded in 1874, Geveke is headquartered in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, employs around 173 people and had revenues of approximately €61 million in 2021.

Ebara acquires Hayward Gordon

Japan’s Ebara Corporation acquired 100% equity in Hayward Gordon LP, the Canada-headquartered international supplier of industrial pumps and mixers.

 

Ingersoll Rand to acquire Everest Group and Airmax Groupe

Ingersoll Rand Inc entered into agreements to acquire India’s Everest Group and France’s Airmax Groupe for a combined US$86 million.

Everest Group provides customized blower and vacuum pump solutions with a significant focus on innovation and exposure to high-growth, sustainable end markets including water treatment, pharma and food and beverage. The company has two manufacturing locations near Delhi in India and approximately 420 employees. Everest adds high flow, low pressure vacuum dry screw pumps, vacuum boosters and a new line of positive displacement blowers and packages to Ingersoll Rand’s product offering.

Airmax is a French compressed air specialist with a technician network focused on aftermarket service. The company has approximately 100 employees and nine locations across France. The acquisition of Airmax will strengthen Ingersoll Rand’s position in France and adds strong local market expertise with significant recurring revenue from aftermarket service.

 

Anderson Process buys Minnesota pump distributor

Anderson Process acquired Neil Dornbusch & Associates, a pump distributor and fabrication provider based in New Prague, Minnesota, USA.

Neil Dornbusch & Associates provides processing and wastewater equipment for the food processing industry and custom fabrication of processing and screening equipment. The company also supplies dewatering, slurry, dust suppression and wash plant pump solutions for the aggregate and mining industries.

 

Ingersoll Rand buys Dosatron International

Ingersoll Rand Inc acquired Dosatron International for an all-cash upfront purchase price of approximately US$90 million, with additional future consideration of up to US$15 million.

 

Wilo expands in water management in China

Germany’s Wilo Group is acquiring two specialist companies in flood control and wastewater treatment in China.

Wilo acquired all shares in the joint venture Mating (Shanghai) Membrane Technology Co Ltd, a company that specialises in membrane bioreactors for wastewater treatment.

Wilo also increased its stake in the German-Chinese joint venture Guhong (Shanghai) Environmental Engineering Equipment Co Ltd, a specialist in flood control, to 75%, and therefore acquiring a majority interest.

 

AxFlow expands in Denmark

AxFlow Denmark purchased Gram Vakuum Teknik ApS, a Danish supplier of vacuum pumps, lifting equipment and related services.

 

Stuart Turner acquires Aquatronic Group Management

Pump manufacturer Stuart Turner acquired Aquatronic Group Management (AGM), a provider of cold-water boosting installation and maintenance equipment and services in the UK.

 

Griffin Dewatering expands pump rental footprint in North America

Griffin Dewatering, a portfolio company of Dallas-based private equity firm Crossplane Capital, acquired Cross Country Infrastructure Services’ Pump & Integrity Rental segment.

 

Maag acquires Witte Pumps

Maag Pump Systems AG bought the German gear pump company Witte Pumps & Technology GmbH.
